Terms of service

Last updated:

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Genjutsu (genjutsu.si), its website, video-editing application, and related services (the "Services"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Genjutsu is operated by the same service operator as Sceneform. References to Genjutsu in these Terms include that operator. Contact support@sceneform.ai for its legal entity and registered-address details.

1. Who may use Genjutsu

You must be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority where you live, whichever is higher, and able to enter into a binding contract. You may not use the Services if applicable law prohibits you from doing so.

If you use Genjutsu for a company or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it. In that case, "you" and "your" refer to the organization.

2. Your account

Provide accurate account information, keep it current, and protect your login credentials. You are responsible for activity under your account. Clerk manages email and Google sign-in and account settings.

You may not share, sell, or transfer your account without our written permission, or create multiple accounts to avoid limits, enforcement, or payment obligations. Tell support@sceneform.ai promptly if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.

3. How the Services work

Genjutsu provides AI video-to-video editing. You supply a source clip, reference images, and optional instructions to create a new version of the take. The Services include media upload and link import, trimming, generation, previews, downloads, and reshoot history. Some experiences are demos; paid generation requires an eligible account and sufficient credits.

Third-party models and infrastructure

Genjutsu uses Higgsfield's Genjutsu motion-transfer model and third-party authentication, payment, hosting, and storage providers. We send the content needed for your request to the model and infrastructure providers. Their technical limits, acceptable-use rules, moderation, and retention practices apply. Changes or interruptions at those providers can affect availability and results.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we and our providers process your information. Importing a TikTok or Instagram link retrieves the clip you select; it does not authorize publishing to your social account.

AI output limitations

Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, or unsuitable for your intended use. Review them before use or publication. Outputs may not be unique; other people may receive similar or identical results. We do not guarantee that an output is original, eligible for intellectual-property protection, or free from third-party rights.

Service changes and limits

We may add, change, restrict, or discontinue features and impose reasonable limits on file size, clip duration, storage, generation volume, concurrency, or automated use. Beta, preview, and experimental features may change or stop without notice and may be less reliable than generally available features.

4. Subscriptions, credits, and payments

Recurring subscriptions and cancellation

Paid plans renew automatically until canceled. You authorize us and our payment provider to charge the applicable fees and taxes to your payment method at each renewal. You can cancel through Manage billing in your account's billing page or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless checkout says otherwise.

Credits

Paid plans include generation credits. The current video generation rate is 15 credits per second at every available resolution; fractional seconds are prorated and rounded up to a whole credit. The cost is shown before a live generation. File and duration validation, plan eligibility, daily usage limits, and sufficient credits are required to start a run.

Monthly and annual plans receive credit grants monthly. Unused plan credits roll over up to twice the monthly allowance. Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be redeemed for money. An active paid period is required to start new paid generations, even when a balance remains after a subscription ends.

Reserved generation credits are returned when a request is confirmed rejected or a generation is saved as failed, canceled, or flagged. Credits may remain reserved while the result is uncertain. Contact support if you believe a charge or reservation is incorrect.

Plan changes

The options and timing shown in checkout or the billing portal govern plan changes. An upgrade may start immediately; if it does, we may charge the new price, move your billing date, and grant the new plan's credits. Downgrades normally take effect at the next renewal. Review the terms shown before confirming a change.

Refunds

You may request a refund within three days of an initial purchase or qualifying plan upgrade if you have created fewer than three videos. Email support@sceneform.ai with your account and purchase details. If we approve the refund, we will close the account and arrange deletion of its created videos, subject to the limited retention described in the Privacy Policy. This refund is available once per account.

Except where applicable law requires otherwise, other fees and credits are non-refundable. Renewals and used or expired credits are not refundable. Account deletion does not automatically issue a refund. When support completes an account-closure request, we arrange subscription cancellation; unused paid time and credits are lost, subject to the refund rights above and applicable law.

Taxes and payment disputes

Prices exclude taxes unless checkout says otherwise. You are responsible for applicable taxes. We may suspend paid features after a failed payment or chargeback; fraudulent chargebacks may result in account termination.

5. Your content and intellectual property

"Input" means prompts, instructions, source videos, reference images, links, and other content you submit. "Output" means content generated for you. Together, Inputs and Outputs are "Customer Content."

Your ownership

You retain all rights you have in Inputs. As between you and Genjutsu, you own any rights Genjutsu may have in your Outputs to the extent applicable law permits. We do not claim ownership of Customer Content. This does not give you rights in our Services, models, software, templates, trademarks, or third-party materials.

Limited permission to process content

You give Genjutsu a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, transmit, modify only as technically necessary, and display Customer Content solely to provide the features you request, store and display your reshoots, keep the Services safe and reliable, comply with law, and investigate support requests, abuse, security incidents, or legal claims.

We may sublicense this permission only to providers helping us perform those tasks. We may transfer it in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale, but the recipient remains subject to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. The license ends when content is deleted from our active systems; limited copies may remain in backups or for legal, security, fraud-prevention, billing, or dispute obligations.

No Genjutsu model training

We do not use Customer Content to train or improve Genjutsu-owned, shared, or general-purpose AI models. Any future training contribution program requires separate affirmative opt-in. A Terms update alone will not make previously submitted content eligible for training. Third-party model providers process content under their own business or API terms, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Marketing and feedback

Making content public does not give us permission to use it in advertising, case studies, or promotional material. We will ask separately before featuring your Customer Content in marketing. You may withdraw permission for future uses through support.

If you voluntarily send ideas or feedback, you allow us to use that feedback without payment or restriction. Customer Content is not feedback unless you clearly submit it for that purpose.

Storage and backups

Genjutsu is not a backup service. Keep copies of content you need. We may remove content after termination, when required by law, or when it violates these Terms. Provider-hosted media URLs may expire or become unavailable under provider terms, independently of the reshoot history stored in your account.

6. Media depicting people

Clips and reference images may contain identifiable people, faces, or voices. Use such media only when you are the depicted or recorded person, have that person's informed permission, or applicable law otherwise permits the use. You are responsible for any consent required by privacy, publicity, biometric, employment, or other law.

Do not use edits to deceive, defraud, harass, impersonate, or mislead people. Non-consensual intimate imagery and sexual content involving minors are prohibited. Genjutsu does not sell biometric data or use face or voice data for Genjutsu model training. Model providers may process source media and technical representations to perform the edit under their terms and the Privacy Policy.

7. Your responsibilities and acceptable use

You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed for Inputs and your intended use of Outputs, and that your content and use comply with law and other people's rights. Review AI outputs before relying on or publishing them and comply with the rules of any platform where you share them.

You may not:

  • Use the Services for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, or harmful activity.
  • Violate intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights.
  • Create sexual or exploitative content involving minors or non-consensual intimate imagery.
  • Circumvent moderation, security, rate limits, payment requirements, or access controls.
  • Scrape the Services or use unauthorized automation.
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract our software, source code, model weights, or confidential provider mechanics, except as applicable law permits.
  • Interfere with the Services or another person's account, or distribute malware, spam, or deceptive campaigns.

We may investigate suspected violations and remove content or restrict access when reasonably necessary.

8. Genjutsu's intellectual property

Genjutsu and its licensors own the Services, including software, designs, interfaces, workflows, documentation, trademarks, and other technology. These Terms grant a limited right to use them and do not transfer ownership. You may not copy, sell, license, distribute, or create derivative works from the Services except as these Terms or applicable law allow.

9. Intellectual-property complaints

If you believe content on Genjutsu infringes your rights, email support@sceneform.ai with your contact information, a description of the protected work, the content's location, a statement explaining why the use is unauthorized, and other information required by applicable law. We may remove disputed content and terminate repeat infringers.

10. Third-party platforms and links

Imported media and external links may involve TikTok, Instagram, or other media hosts. Submit only content you are authorized to access and process. Your use of those platforms remains subject to their terms; Genjutsu does not control their availability, content, or independent data practices.

Google sign-in, Clerk account management, and Stripe checkout and billing also rely on third-party services. Their applicable terms and privacy practices continue to apply.

11. Suspension, cancellation, and deletion

You may stop using Genjutsu or cancel a subscription at any time. Use Manage billing or contact support to cancel. Email support@sceneform.ai to request account closure or deletion of application content. Authentication-account settings do not automatically remove all application records, cancel billing, or delete provider-hosted media.

Support coordinates account closure, subscription cancellation, and deletion of application content after verifying the request, subject to legal and other limited retention obligations described in the Privacy Policy. Deletion cannot be undone. Keep copies of media you need before requesting it. Subscription cancellation alone does not delete your history, and we do not promise a fixed post-subscription deletion schedule.

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, create risk or harm, fail to pay, or expose us or another person to legal liability. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to correct the problem.

We may terminate the Services without cause on reasonable notice. If we do, we will refund prepaid fees for Services we do not provide. Provisions that must remain effective survive termination, including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, dispute terms, and rights needed to resolve legal or security matters.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent applicable law permits, we provide the Services "as is" and "as available," without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, or error-free operation.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or continuous availability; accurate, original, lawful, or suitable AI outputs; that Customer Content will never be lost; or that a third-party provider or platform will continue operating. Mandatory consumer warranties in your jurisdiction still apply.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent applicable law permits, Genjutsu and its affiliates, personnel, and licensors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, revenue, data, business, or goodwill.

Our total liability arising from the Services or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the fees you paid Genjutsu during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or $100.

These limits do not apply where law prohibits them. They do not limit liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or other liability that cannot legally be limited.

14. Indemnity

To the extent applicable law permits, you will defend and indemnify Genjutsu against a third-party claim resulting from content submitted without required rights or consent, unlawful or deliberately harmful use, or a material violation of these Terms. This does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own misconduct or an unauthorized change we made to Customer Content.

We will promptly notify you of a covered claim and allow you to control the defense, subject to our right to participate. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits fault by Genjutsu or imposes obligations on us without written consent.

15. Disputes and applicable law

Contact support@sceneform.ai first so we can try to resolve a dispute informally. These Terms do not remove mandatory consumer rights or access to courts granted by applicable law. Any governing-law or forum rule must yield where your local law does not allow it.

Unless a signed agreement says otherwise, applicable law determines the governing law and courts with jurisdiction. Contact support@sceneform.ai for the operator's legal entity or registered-address details before making a claim.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for changes to the Services, law, security requirements, or business practices. We will give at least 30 days' notice before a material change that reduces your rights unless law or an urgent security issue requires an earlier change. We may ask you to accept material changes before continuing use.

A Terms update alone will not enroll Customer Content in AI model training. Any Genjutsu training program requires separate affirmative opt-in.

17. General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without written permission. We may assign them in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to law.

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and additional terms shown for a feature or purchase form the agreement concerning the Services. A signed business agreement controls if it conflicts. Neither party is liable for delays outside its reasonable control, except for payment obligations.

18. Contact

For questions about these Terms, email support@sceneform.ai and identify Genjutsu or genjutsu.si in your message. Contact the same address for the service operator's legal entity or registered-address details.
